Positions
Graduate student (Ph.D.) and postdoctoral openings in David Mitlin’s research group at the University of Texas at Austin. The focus is on fundamental materials science and materials chemistry associated with “Beyond Li” metal batteries (MBs) and all-solid-state-batteries (ASSBs). The projects’ focus on design and control of metal-electrolyte and cathode-electrolyte interfaces and interphases. Interested candidates from all engineering disciplines and from chemistry are encouraged to apply. The projects will give students wide exposure to the leading scientists in the energy storage community, including close interactions with synchrotron, cryo-EM (FIB-SEM, TEM), and simulation experts. There will also be wide opportunities to publish in tier-one journals and to present the results in international conferences such as MRS and ECS.
Potentially interested Ph.D. students should write directly to david.mitlin2@utexas.edu. A graduate school application would be to the Materials Program, through the Texas Materials Institute (TMI). In the online forms, please explicitly indicate that you would like to work with me. Potentially interested postdocs should email me with a CV that lists publications.
